A gentleman of the Company called here a few days ago & wanted to know the reason why the Sheppey was undocked in the Exempted area. I think it was under the idea he had heard from H. Z. that this arrangement & their reception had been bitterly criticised. After speaking to W. Haber I informed him that the question was under reference to H.E. the Governor & that nothing could be decided until his reference was received. I was disinclined to do so until the 31st July.

I do not see that more can now be said. This might as well be sent to the Lakeland at once as per the chart infra. It has escaped attention U 10/10. I will send them when I get the information about JITH 1H 10/10.
